Heading to Thunder Bay today (North of Superior!)

*******

Nala made the doggy Hall of Fame at the Sault Ste. Marie hotel lol

It was a long drive to Thunder Bay. The first part was very foggy. Should have been almost 8 hours but a lot of slow downs for construction and very few towns/stops in between.

We were excited to make it to Wawa (which didn’t have much besides gas and a Tim Hortons). When we pulled up for gas someone told us the power was out in the whole town. Luckily it came on after a bit (once we were done photographing the goose) and we were about to get gas and a sandwich (plus 2 freebies for some reason).

Saw where Winnie the Pooh came from (White River).

Saw a sign for the smallest Canadian Tire in Nipigon, but didn’t see the store.

Stopped at the Terry Fox memorial right before downtown Thunder Bay. Saw the Sleeping Giant at the same time. Some guys were smoking pot at the monument I’m when we got there which seemed inappropriate! The flowers are red and white around the walk to the memorial. It’s near the spot he ended his Marathon of Hope.

Really bright here…the sun sets at 10 pm in Thunder Bay.

Remember mom taking us to see “North of Superior” when we were kids at Ontario Place, so I keep thinking of it. May see the canyon on the way back that’s in the film (Ouimet canyon):

You can see the two pot smokers!
If you zoom in you can see some of the many red and white flower beds.
