Thursday, July 13th (Day 9)

Hazy in Alberta because of the BC wildfires.

Heading to Drumheller today – our west-most stop. We’ll see how we feel after about going to the Royal Tyrell Museum tonight as they’re opened until 9 pm. Our hotel (the Ramada) has a waterslide. They seem to be more popular out west.

*******

The museum was good. The first part is the grade 7 geography curriculum (Continental Drift, etc.), then they have the dinosaur halls with some complete dinosaur fossils. I guess I was getting tired because I don’t even remember seeing the T-Rex skeleton, but apparently it’s there. Dad seemed to remember it. We may decide to check it out again. We were rushing at the end to not leave Nala alone too long.

There’s a ice cream truck right outside the hotel (tried to show in the picture from the hotel window). Seems like a good idea, until the cone was passed by the employee’s bare hand without a napkin or anything :o. The ice cream was good (didn’t try the cone). Just going to try to pool with the slide. Hope it’s made for adults too lol

**Update: We decided the slide was too small for people our age. The pool water was fairly warm, but cold compared to the Temple Garden mineral pool.

World’s Tallest Teepee – near Medicine Hat AB
The T-Rex and Triceratops that are supposedly in there lol

Nala says hi!! She wasn’t a good eater today until she got to the hotel, then did a bit better!
