Heading back to Manitoba today. Drive relatively shorter. We’ll stay two nights, and switch hotels from when we drive through the first time.
The tour last night of Stone Hall Castle was intense. The owner is a retired European hockey player turned realtor. The medieval castle is coal. It’s from the time of the Tudors, and he has beeswax castles overflowing everywhere. The ambience is creepy, especially during the night tour. He shares, along with a lot of rules about what not to touch, a lot of information, especially about where sayings come from. Common ones like “Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water”, but also a bunch of others. The owner has a lot of views on things that he doesn’t hesitate to share during the walk-though as well lol. I didn’t get many pictures because of the fast-pace of information and worrying about all his rules, but I shared a few from online. You can stay the night in one of the rooms; the most expensive is a suite for $2500/night.

Posted some Nala shots before leaving Regina this morning as well.

Made it back to Winnipeg! Tried the brewery Nonsuch (named after the first HBC ship that came to fur trade in Hudson Bay) in the Exchange District. The Exchange District is similar to the area Mike works in – the old grain exchange buildings with condos interspersed. They had a bunch of smalls plates for sharing, so we got devilled eggs, olives, chips and dip, and a charcuterie board.
